Alternates for !26 tail light gasket

I posted before and lost & can't find the link.

What are alternate ways to seal the tail light gaskets of an 84 300SD (126) to prevent water from getting into the trunk. I want this fixed and don't want to spend a bunch more before I sell. Also don't want to create a horrible "PO rig" that the next guy has to undo.

Small amount of silicone sealer always worked and could be removed if wanted.
Most large leaks come from rear window seal area. Sealer between rubber and
window not sealing well, getting hard and dry. Rubber can also be cracked or hard.

In this case, it is obvious that the tail light seals are leaking. I've lifted the bottom of the window gasket with a small right angled probe and there is no indication of rust. It is usually possible to see a slight bubbling along the bottom of the window seal if there is rust there.

What else we got for the tail lights?
