Union 76 "renewable Diesel" thoughts?

Got a few gallons the other day near the Oakland airport in Northern California.

Any thoughts?

Without any significant research, this seems like its just like Propel's HPR diesel. I ran HPR almost exclusively when I had my running diesel, made a big difference with the 240D, just a little more driveable with just a little less smoke. Plus, it didn't have that diesel smell.

Thanks for the insights.
The price is about the same as basic diesel but I plan on trying this stuff when possible.

I read on some other source that there is a max cetane number that is usable (for lack of better words) for the average diesel engine.
So the renewable fuel's 77 cetane rating kind of seemed like more than would be exploitable by an average engine (300D)...

Without diving into the chemistry of renewable diesel fuel or the logistics of the waste produced by EV's, I believe that a renewable diesel fuel will be more sustainable and environmentally friendly than the EV take over which requires a stupid amount of finite, destructive mining.
I don't feel that we've developed the ideal renewable fuel yet, though. I would happily run it though after making sure that the lubricity standards were in check. ULSD has poor lubrication characteristics due to its lack of sulfur, so that'd be a big game changer for me!
