300SDL driver trans side case plug leaking fluid =(
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys I'm a long time lurker and this is my first post. I have an issue with my 86 300SDL 722.3 trans. it's leaking from a plug behind the shift lever module (driver side). It's not from the actual shift lever seal. It looks like a Steel plug that's flush with the transmission case (rusty). Fluid is weeping out slowly and making it seem like the rear of the trans is leaking. here's a picture. Any help on how to seal it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Ryan |
Been there done that but with tranny in car. Much more difficult than yours with it on the bench.

I dont feel like pulling the valve body out over and over.
Thanks a bunch. Looks like Im going back into the trans for a deep dive... OH LORD. cant wait for the day i have an electric car without a darn trans. *sigh* the battles i do to not have to smog a car in So cal !!! |
