Don't know about the 190 but on a 126, there are bolts with 8 mm heads that hold the fiirewall in. Look carefully on the front of the panel and also near the bottom. Pull the rubber strip that is currently on the top of the panel off 1st.

Not familiar personally with the 190.
However, here is the information from the FSM: https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/11832/?requestedDocId=11832 https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/11832/Resources/201Create/PDF/20003.pdf

Yup. Look along the sides. There are bolts that hold that piece to the firewall or inner fender. It’s tough to reach them all, but if you get a few loose you can push it forward out of the way.

I have a few 190’s and I can usually get the blower cover off without touching firewall cover.
There are two more of those same type of clips that you see at the top way down low along the sides. They must be popped out as well. It can be a real bear because they are so low. I usually use some type of home made tool with a 90 degree bend to reach down along the side and pop out. You then just pivot the top forward towards the engine. |
