1995 E300 starter removal

Can’t really find anything on the web for this job and can’t find the old w124 manuals that used to be on the web. On the 606 NA just kind of curious how much of a PITA the job is. I remember them being easy on my om602, but I know the 606 is 3 years ahead. Anyone done it and have any advice? Have a week to prepare, doing some side work on a guys car I met at a gas station.

That link is N/A, that does not cover OM606. Although it looks as easy as any mid 70s small block Chevy. Pretty wide open, especially if access to a lift.

OP is looking for procedure on 1995 E300 which is a W124 chassis with OM606.910 N/A engine.

Header on procedure: "Engines 102, 103, 104, 111, 601, 602, 603, 605, 606"

I’m wagering it’s going to be a tight job with poor access. The top bolt with the trans tunnel is going to be hard to get to I bet. Yuck. I’m thinking $300 is fair what I quoted him. I’ll update this thread with tricks and tips for the future when I dig into it
