1984 300DT: URO repair kit for heater control valve

This web site offers the URO repair kit for heater control valve for about fifteen bucks. Has anyone used it to repair a genuine bosch heater control valve? If so, did it work well?

I have used it several times. It works well but is not durable. Requires replacement every year or two.

Hi RockyR, specifically which part of kit 000 835 0644R have you found to not be very durable? Please send a PM or email "sales at uro parts dot com", we'll have our engineers check it out and discuss improving it via a running change.

The kit you have referenced is for W124 cars. The kit for W123 cars is similar. In that kit the diaphragm is the weak part. It seemingly ruptures easily. Last time, I replaced it with a Genuine Mercedes Benz part at (great) additional cost. Has not failed so far in two years. I suggest your engineers look into the rubber compound chosen for that part.

I appreciate your attention to improving the quality control of your products. I assume you are aware of the reputation your products have developed among us old Benz drivers and are trying to overcome it. Excellent!

I could not be daily driving my 36yo Benz without you and similar aftermarket suppliers, Chinese or not. Thank you.

Same story here. Bought the Uro part, in my case it din't work right out of the box. The spring was just too weak is my guess. I also replaced it with a genuine Mercedes part and It has been fine for the last 3 years....

rebuilt monovalve, still not heat at hiway speed....

Edit- mine was the MTC part...

Thank you URO, for taking the time to look into this. Your hard work and dedication is appreciated on this item because without it, the heater doesn't work. It's winter in my part of the woods so I'm definitely planning on purchasing your product!

Thank you merc lover!

Hate to say it, but you should probably go with something else instead of waiting for our valve repair kit. Sometimes these product evaluations & updates take six months to a year, and you don't have that kind of time.

Fortunately, I have a genuine bosch monovalve in the car currently. I have a another failed bosch unit sitting on the shelf so I will have to wait until you get your repair kit ready for market.
