Yeah you don’t really need xentry. You should have a member come look at this in person or drive out to a member who’s willing to take a look. There’s so many details that could be left out and things you might not notice. Losing power over a certain rpm could be a electrical or mechanical issue. It could still very well be air ingress. Did you successfully rebuild the lift pump

you mean its actually balks and chokes out?

You may want to check your exhaust - is there good pressure coming out of the tailpipes?

Howdy Fellas, bringin this thread back from the dead.

I’m experiencing the exact same issues with my 97 e300. Won’t shift above 4500 with my foot into the kickdown. It just hang up until I ease off a little and then shifts. Tcm is looking for 5k rpm’s.

My e300 sat for a while, had a leaking sov. Replaced the seals in the sov. Now it has this issue. Not sure if it’s related and could be air ingress….

“Father of Giants” did you figure out what was you cause??

Thanks for the help.

6 cans of diesel purge????

Just do an injection cleaning with Molly diesel purge. One can is plenty. Not in the tank, but running it directly into the injectors by having both the fuel intake hose and the hose that sends unusued fuel back to the tank, in the bottle.

After that, if the car still doesn't have power, it could be the injectors are bad.

Try disconnecting the fuel supply line under the hood and blowing back through it with compressed air. Remove the fuel cap first. How old is the fuel filter?
