Just a sign of a good healthy engine that still has good compression..Usually.

I should ad because it is important. With or without glow plugs quick starts are a good sign the fuel system is not back draining either. A lot of winter and summer start problems are the fuel had back drained so the engine has to crank some to get the fuel back up and under pressure to feed the injectors. Before it will consider starting.

Mine is the same. The Temp Sensor is built into the Glow Plug Relay (it measures what ever temp is under the hood where the relay is). There is an description of that in the Factory Service Manual.

On the older models there was a temp sensor in the Cylinder head and of course an extra wire for that.

Starting in 1981 there is an internal temp sensor.

Thank you! I have a few diagrams but I didn't see that in them.

With the Factory service manual as you page down you have to notice what model year is at the top of the page because the section on the relay shows both of them.
