Can't add anything sensible to this post really, but am utterly jealous of the turbo'd W123 and W124's that you all got in the states, and how long they all seem to have lasted. I'd happily drive all the way across the USA to buy this for $350. Shame I'm on the other side of the pond.

The first turbo we ever saw in the UK was on the W210 OM606. Everything prior to that (OM613 and backwards) was Non-turbo only, and hellishly slow. The reasoning being that you couldn't get the turbo/exhaust system in along with the RHD steering gear. Even on the 606 turbo it's a real bodge.

I'd love a turbo OM617 engine'd car. Could even live with the steering wheel being on the wrong side of the car...

Put the bumper back on. List it fir $1,500 and take the 1st cash offer. Getting it running will help even if you just put a fresh quart of fuel in a jar and run it off that. I've let 617s sit for years and they have started right up. Another caveat is warm daytime temperatures &/or synthetic oil with a fresh battery.

Definitely see if you can get it to start. I remember going to a guys house who had about 35 mercedes diesels for sale, but they all had flat tires and hadn't been started in years (and most were parked in a fenced in square area with a small entrance and exit so any but the first row would have been a major project to get out) but he was still asking driver prices for them. I'm sure they are either still sitting there or scrapped.

I doubt the motor is original.
Every euro I've seen was non turbo.

Or someone tacked a turbo onto the motor.
The motor pic isnt detailed enough to tell what IP is on the motor.

My 85 Euro wagon is a turbo. Even on the build card. Leather 7 pass seats, power windows, headlight wipers, everything in the car in german… Only thing is they put a 3.07 rear not the normal 85 2.88...

Would like to see a better picture of the intake on that engine...
