edit: I had reason to use "Deoxit" on the electrical contacts of the 78 Zcar. It made such a difference that I'll use it on the fuse box and any other wiring connector that I come across on the SD.

Small world, we use gaskets from Trimlok
at my work, we buy them by the roll and sell them as replacement lid gaskets for Harley saddlebags. I can vouch for their products. Very good stuff. USA made, excellent adhesive, great quality overall. I use some gasket material on my 240D as well, for random odds and ends. The stuff we sell looks like it would be perfect for a trunk seal, but have not tried it there yet.
