1985 w126 trim seals...

I have removed these trim pieces to strip the anodization, sand and polish.

Center of the photo are the rain strips running up and down. I removed the rubber seal from the one on the right. Those four seals which run top to bottom at the doors can be saved by removing them before using the oven cleaner to strip the finish.

The uppermost section of the rain strip has a very soft seal which is shown on both rain strip pieces, it fell apart when I tried to coax it out of the seat. Are these available to purchase or is there a good substitute?

In the upper right corner of photo is the aluminum windshield trim. Those black strips are some type layered seal. This will not survive the cleaning. Can that material be purchased or is there a good substitute?

Thank you all for the help and as always, I promise to post pictures of this project car when completed.

Disclaimer: If I live to finish it.

You can call this site's order line and they can track down a PN and check availability. Others refer people to the Classic Center. While you're at it, check on sun roof seals, the clips that hold the top of the front windshield trim. There are also some type of rivet that holds the top of the painted trim that runs along the side of the front windshield.

Ha, I stripped those pieces today and the weather strips on them survived. I might dab a little plumbers putty on a spot or two.
