Yup, I saw those. Any specific brand you recommend? Obviously I'm assuming I should just go for the one that's OEM and probably the most expensive and just bite the bullet.

If you live in a cooler climate, you may not have issues. However, I have seen hoods, around here, with a "hot spot". True, there may have been modifications, or other circumstances, but why take the risk. Plus, there is the added benefit of noise reduction. Probably any of the insulation pads with foil are of higher quality. I've gone through the cheaper ones. In fact, one was disintegrating before installation.
Use 3M Super 77 Trim Adhesive on the pad and hood. Also, place a sheet of plastic drop cloth over the engine beforehand. Are you familiar with the "maintenance" position for the hood?
