1997 E300 Mid pipe clamp broken.
So I broke this a while ago, thankfully no fumes but now my car sounds like a rattling POS!
Can I repair this at home or will an an exhaust shop have to sort this out? I don't think there is any way for me to fix it at home. The stud is sheared off and some of the bracket is damaged as well. Over tightened it, I'm looking to taking it to big Al's or a local muffler shop in town. |
I’d take it to a muffler shop and call it a day. Let them deal with it. Exhausts are a PITA.

Sounds like a cheap muffler shop repair.

Acknowledged, muffler shop it is.

They will probably just flail around with a wire feed welder until everything seems more or less not going to fall off. If its a beater then no big deal, but most muffler shops don't really do factory quality repairs.
