I own a W123 300D NA Auto and find my W115 240d 4 spd manual is far sportier to drive. Guessing the HD struts will only amplify this.

I'm puzzled that the shock/strut manufacturers don't supply a graph or numerical rating for the expected performance of that part. It seems this would provide a way to pick a damper that would better match the desired handling and ride.

I talked with a US Bilstein rep about a month ago and he said the individual spec's are proprietary. I guess I'll try to select a ' mama bear ' version for my 95 E300D so it'll be in between soft and harsh.

Received the HD struts. Was pleasantly surprised to find them made in Germany. They come with the bumpstop, sleeve and all the hardware as well.
