91-92 350 SDL's- anyway to tell if the Motor/Rods- are "better" version like heads i
Still W126 diesel hunting-
anyway to tell if 1991-92 SDL's are of a "better" number series/motor and Rods? Been reading- it seems like- when the Rods failed... MB sent them New Heavier rods... are there any Motor/series numbers- that had these "better" rods to begin with? Or is it really "Luck of the car/find"? |

I recommend not buying a 350 of that era unless the engine has been replaced with a 3.0. I believe the blocks were too flexible and the rods get bent by partial hydrolock.
I would also recommend a 126 with the 617 engine. Lovely cars. If they came as wagons I would probably be driving one now.
