Intermittent seat belt AND glow plug light
The seatbelt and glow plug lights on my 1982 240D will intermittently not light when the key is in the glow position, perhaps 20% of the time. The glow plugs have been recently replaced.
Before I start pulling the cluster out, do they share a common fuse? It wasn't clear to me in the fuse diagram which dash lights share a fuse. If there is still a glow plug issue, does it affect both the glow plug light and seatbelt light for some reason? I would suspect a wiring or socket issue in the cluster. |

It would take like 15 minutes for you to pull all of your fuses and make sure the tips of the fuse and the brackets the fuses go in have good contact areas.
When I had intermittent glow plug I found the strip fuse (in the glow plug relay) was cracked. Another member found the strip fuse screws are not tight. You did not say if when the Glow Plug light was having issues your engine was starting and running normally or was it acting as if there was one or more bad glow plugs? Your Ignition Switch and Steering Colum Lock are 37 years old.
