The opening bid of 250k (which is not a selling price) seems very low for a car that is a "one of a kind" Not going to dispute the fact that it may very well be a "replica" Of course if it is a replica then 250k is way out of line. You would think the real deal would be worth 5-10x over the new price. I am tempted to bid for fun but already got in trouble bidding on a Russian sub a couple of years ago and then retracting my bid when everyone else backed off and I became the high bidder at 12 million. I could have written a check, taken the sub out and stayed under water till the statute of limitations was up on the check fraud charged but I don't think I could stand it that long, it's real hard to fish underwater:D

I am not suggesting that that one is not real. I am saying that I could afford a fiberglass replica with a Subaru engine in it.

I hate that when everyone above you backs out on a deal...particularly when you are underwater.

I don't know Greg, fiberglass replica may get you in very big trouble with the MB QC people;) They may decide that you are not worthy to park ANY MB in your driveway, take them away, and force you to forever drive 65 VW Beetle.

Uhoh we have attracted the attention of the boss. Everyone look busy, get back to work. To get back on topic and make the boss man happy how about not just "a" 4.0 CDI, how about 8-4.0 CDI's? Then it would still be close to the listed hp. Man would that be some kind of transfer case :p

Maybe this is a fiberglass body with an old Subaru engine - or maybe even Briggs & Stratton.

With that sleek body it certainly would not take much horsepower to get it down the road....
