EGR oil gunk deposits in 603 intake manifold

Wondering if I should be concerned with the oily gunk built up over the years from the EGR in the crossover and intake manifold?

It is in the head, in the intake chamber, too though that would be hard to clean without dropping oily gunk into the cylinder. Not so much that it would impede airflow (I think). But it looks kind of bad. My tendency is to clean clean clean stuff like this, but it ain't easy unless you've got a good parts washer which I don't. Any thoughts?

If it isn't built up to the point that it's restricting flow, leave it be. It won't hurt anything. Block off the EGR to keep that crap out of the manifold in the future. If it's built up to the point that it's restricting the intake runners, time for a soak and scrub. It's a mess and takes a lot of time.

EGR is blocked - practically the first thing I did after buying it. Thanks for the advice. It looks like a damned dirty job to clean it all out for not much gain.

My SDL was so choked with soot that the intake runners were down to ~1.5cm in diameter. It took 2 weeks of soaking, scrubbing, rinsing, and repeating to get all that crap out. Big, Big, BIG mess. The 350SD's manifold wasn't bad at all, despite having working EGR when I got the car.
