220D Pickup Truck

Here's something you don't see every day:

https://www.arcar.org/mercedes-benz-pickup-220-d-110509

'One of 1050 manufactured." It would almost be worth the effort to ship it back to the US.

That's fun. I wonder if that was a factory build or done by an outside source ('m thinking of how Fox Mustang convertibles were built at an outside shop, maybe American Sunroof). Will it fit an OM617?

Not sure what you're looking at. Looks pretty straight to me. For some reason, Mercedes exported a lot of pickups to Argentina. I've never seen them anywhere else. You can see quite a few of them there, especially 170D's, like this one:

AFAIK they were built in Argentina. Same with the South African one I'm sure. That's why you never really see them anywhere else

I'd take one of them as well. Its not as stylish as the 170 though.

I have considered cutting up a 123 or 124 wagon to make a pickup truck. Hate to do it though. But its been on my mind for a few years. Though the Bakkie or the 170 from Argentina is a thought. Hadn't seen that before.
