W124 pricing is arguably tricky these days....they are on the verge of becoming classic. So if you have one in really nice, pristine condition it could fetch a higher price....some people just really, really want a W124. If I really wanted a nice W124 I would happily pay $4000-5000. Thankfully I already own one!

FYI once that car gets much over 200k miles needing a head gasket is a realistic possibility. BTDT.
