brand new glow plugs, still stumbles...

hello, hope you all are well. i just replaced the glow plugs in my wifes car (99 E300D), and it is still stumbling when starting. i also noticed the clear fuel lines have foamy air bubbles with lots of movement in them when it is running.

my 92 300d doesnt do that, not sure if it's related....

could you guys suggest a few other things to check for the cold start stumble?

Fix the air ingress problem. There are lots of threads documenting problems with the OM606 plumbing. It uses plastic fittings and O-rings to seal and is a source of lots of air ingress problems.

I would replace all of the fuel o rings as soon as possible. I ignored mine like an idiot and it eventually turned into a crank no start.

OM606.962 o-ring size

Be careful removing intake manifold bolts, I would soak them with Deep Creep every day for a week. Two of my intake manifold bolts snapped on me.

Other than that it's a doable job.

You might as well do the delivery valves as well.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

Did you check to make sure the gp’s are getting power. The module fails often at this age
