Remove EGR Computer

Putting my 85 300CD back into shape. The EGR computer is shot, so I am jumping the EGR connector to power the tachometer. May as well remove the EGR valve since it isn't going to be activated anymore. I am also removing the trap oxidizer because I don't trust it for the long term

So my question is, what else can I remove to clean up the engine compartment since the EGR is going away? I was especially curious about the round diaphram on the turbo that is activated by vacuum. It has some sort of vacuum controller shared with the EGR vacuum supply.

That was a great post. I used those diagrams to delete my EGR and all the vacuum lines and other nonsense. I went a little further and removed the vacuum amplifier (flying saucer) and routed my vacuum from my VCV right down to my trans. I fine tuned the vacuum with an orifice that I found in the mess of vacuum lines I removed...mostly because I was too lazy to remove the little cap off the VCV adjustment screw.

I also took off the funny vacuum line to the turbo. I forgot what that one was called but it didn’t need it. ARV? Maybe.

The car runs beautifully and is easy to understand. I got a nice supply of plastic vacuum hose and tees to tinker with as well.
