82 300D 4 speed

Hey guys

have a lead on a 4speed 300d turbo car. no rust, blue on blue. Not sure about the AC but the windows and climate control function well. Seller is a friend of mine but I really cant swing a 4th car right now.

what would be a solid going rate on one of these? I was thinking 3500-4500? paint is faded but thats really the only downside

Only to a fellow ?Diesel Nutter.....

Don't get stuck with a beater you don't want / need .

OTOH, buy it and drop way more $ than it'll ever be worth and you'll love every second driving it .

To me yes it is worth a little more to me if no weird vibrations. Since it is a friends car you also stand a better chance of a really good examination before purchase.

Edit: ohhhh ur looking to buy this car huh? Your not selling it. I'd shoot for 3 and get your DA sander out and buff that paint for two weeks straight lol

I am thinking to maybe keep but more likely resell since kid is on the way! haha

Its an interesting situation, buddy of mine(30 years my senior) loves old 114/115/123 cars and randomly picks them up. owns his own business and usually has room for extra cars.

He picked this car up on a whim and is offering it to me for $2500 with no payment terms(sounds crazy I know), just to pay him whenever so he can make room in his warehouse as he is super busy. If I could resell for 4000 or 4500 id be thrilled! the car looks really good and id love to keep it but just not the right thing to do right now lol.

thanks for the reply's, this is one those basic/silly threads but figured id gauge the elite here for prices.

Would it would be weird if you flipped it using his title? Or is the title transfer fees gonna have to come outta your profit too? Dunno how much that is in your state, but it's about $300 at cheapest where I live.

It might be fun to try and drive it around for awhile, while your waiting for it to sell. And make 500-800 bucks in the process.

I could be wrong tho. Maybe you can get $4000 for the thing. Get some pics.

You just have to resize the image to about 80% of the pixels.

I like that color my car is the same. But ya it doesn't hold up very well. It does buff out shinny takes about a full weekend and at least 5 buffing pads.

I don't know if you could flip it for much profit if you left the paint oxidized.

And for the image problem imgbb.com is what I use. Much much easier and u can just copy and paste the pic.into the post.

I'd pay $2500 for that car as is..that's the right price. Could be a fun car, especially if your used to driving your 78 non turbo auto. I'd just keep it if I were u, drive it, fix it up, then flip it and come.back even.

Talking "Enthusiasts"

I imagine there are lots of us here who love our quirky old Mercedes and will happily keep dribbling the $ into them....

Most won't ever drive them hard far and wide but those who do really get their money's worth .

hmm perhaps not worth it to even pick up at this time then. I would really only get it from if its worth making 500-2000

seems like a headache if its only worth 2500 and that's what he is asking at the friend price
