Anyone have remote start on there diesel w123?

Any have a remote start system on their diesel w123?

do you have a seperate system to kick the glow plugs on? or is there a kit that comes with a delayed engine start and the glow plugs kick on for 10 seconds or so before?

The only ones ive seen are for newer diesels and the glow plugs only come on for a couple seconds, which wouldn't really work for my situation.

Brands? Links? Experience?

Custom set-ups??

Thanks.
-Todd

I had two cars that came with remote start... both were on there when I got the cars, and both had a glow button... no idea what brand they were, nor where they are now to check... sorry.

But at least they DID exist.

Viper used to make one I had it on a w140 with a 603.951 it worked great. Also had a low temperature start to automatically start the car and turn it off based on water temp. I think it was programmed to start at -15 C and turn off at 60 C. It was real handy in frigging Canada.

I actually installed a viper remote start on my 300CD back in November. I can't remember the last time I used the key to start her up. Also while I was in there, I installed an actuator on the driver master lock so the remote lock feature works too, I mean why not?

I have been meaning to do a writeup on it since I never could find anybody who has done an om617 remote start. Only other example I've seen is the 300SD on youtube.
