This has the same generation system as my 2013 and 2014

You repeatedly push the RADIO button on the lower panel and it cycles through FM, AM, and Weather Band.

Or you highlight the FM on the lower strip of the display with the knob and push down, this brings up a sub menu where you can choose the desired 'waveband' as they call it in the manual.

The system on the 2017+ (with the touch pad) is absolutely obtuse compared to this one. I have gotten a couple of dealer loaners lately and it is impossible to adjust while going down the road safely.

Fortunately the newest ones come with Apple Car Play and I just sync my phone and stream music from it.
Thanks Jay! I'll try that.

I hope so. After the emission fix and subsequent failure I lost confidence in the P. I am feeling very good back in a benz!

Boy isn't that for sure! I wrote an article on the first ML, the headline was "How Bright Does the Star Still Shine?" in the article I opined a question wondering just how long it was that Chrysler and Mercedes had been talking. That first ML was built to a price, to a fault. Mercedes PR wasn't happy with my story at all, but I was a hero in the engineering department. LOL

This 250 has loads of torque with a slight hesiatation on take off. Around town just squeeze the throttle and it accelerates with a slight buzz and does not downshift. I am liking it very much!

I wasn't aware that there was an ml250. We owned a glk 250. The Achilles heel is the bluetec emission system. Costly when sensors and other components fail. Too bad because otherwise a great engine. One thing that can help, is to the low ash oil that mb currently recommends. The popular diesel oils that we use in our older diesels cause the particulate filter to plug up . The emission system then uses fuel to burn this off. Fuel consumption goes up. Eventually filter needs replacement.
Good luck with the ML. I miss our glk.

The torque is impressive with the little two liter diesel.

Thanks for the oil tip! Sounds like changing it more often would help too.

I change my oil about every 5,500-6,000 miles and this is a perfect (slightly conservative) schedule as verified by the oil analysis I had done by blackstone.

I use Liquimoly 5w30 low ash synthetic. (light blue bottle) and a Mann filter generally (or MB)

The emissions system isn't that big of a deal. Considering how everything else on the car is about 5x as reliable as the old ones I don't mind if I have to change an occasional sensor or Clean the DPF out every 50-70k miles. The relentless torque and driving dynamic makes it well worth it. Not to mention close to double the average fuel economy I used to get with my 420SEL. Really adds up when driving 1,500 miles+ a month!

Plus, they don't rust....at all, thats HUGE.

Finding your car in large parking lots after shopping is interesting. You do not have to be older either. I actually reverse engineered the problem.

I just made sure to really commit it to memory where I parked it. It only takes a few seconds. I had to do something years ago after finding out my key would not open identical vehicles. So it was some years ago now.

Of course hitting the unlock and lock buttons now can help if stymied for a bit. Most cars are pretty loud.

Two days ago at a place. I had just parked and a guy pulled in alongside. He was so close I figured a door ding was almost inevitable.

So I moved to another spot. When leaving later a guy was cutting across the rows. I just caught him out of the corner of my eye just before it was too late. He did not see me until it would have been too late.

I have mentioned to the wife. That in my opinion the chances of various problems in the large malls with parked cars. Is commonly there in my opinion. I suspect most insurance claims will go 50/50 so even if not your fault a premium increase may still apply.

You can also use Mobil-5w30? that is what our dealer used. So long as it meets mb spec 229.52, I think. I am a bit out of date, but others can confirm.

One type of Mobil 1 5w30, does meet the reg but it has to be Mobile 1 ESP, comes in 5w30, 0w30, 0w40 and 0w20

I use Total Quartz INEO MC3 - 5W-30 it meets both MB and VW requirments

VW recommends this in the owner's manual: Castrol Edge M - 5W-30 Synthetic Castrol Edge 15C5C4 But, I have used the Total oil, as it meets all the most recent requirements from VW and Mercedes

Several Liquimolly meet 229.51, but only one meets MB 229.52:
Liqui Moly Top Tec 4605 - 5W-30 Synthetic 4605 2244

There's also MOTUL 8100 X-clean EFE - 5W-30, but I've never heard of that brand, and also it isn't approved for VW, only MB and I'd prefer an oil that is approved by both.
