Follow up for anyone with same issue, I used a rubber vacuum cap on the end of the linkage. Not exactly sure what size because I found a bunch of vacuum caps in a drawer but I believe it was the same size as the return fuel lines. Went on pretty tight. Let's see if it works!

Post IP Linkage Clip

O.K., I was wondering because these are important and without one the car wouldn't be much use .

I'm not hitting the junkyards right now anyways, I thought maybe I'd find one for you .

I'm pretty sure stamped sheet metal throttle rod clips ('Jesus Clips') will work but you'd have to search a bunch to find the right size & shape .

Any of that vintage found in junkyards would probably be just as brittle. I used heat shrink tubing. Has lasted 6 months so far on daily driver.

Cut the heat shrink tube to size before pushing it on to the protruding metal of the linkage so the shrinking action when you apply heat won't pull it off.

Also watch were you're pointing the heat gun. VCV are NLA.
