Pedal mounting tab

I'm doing some rust repair on my 1984 300D daily driver. The depressed area around the lower pedal mount rusted badly and I was able to remove the pedal with the tab still attached without detaching anything.

The problem is that I can't determine what the thickness of the tab was (due to rust swelling the thickness) and how it was attached (glue, spot weld or fillet weld?).

Does anyone have any clear pictures of the pedal tab?

this tab looks like it was glued between the sheet metal and the soundproofing

It's definitely welded or glued to the floor. The pictures I attached show the floor still attached. The bottom of that team in the pictures has undercoating on it.

I am unable to look at the pictures but perhaps a combination of JB Weld Epoxy and a few pop-rivets or if need be screws would to it. However, better if down to the bare metal.

Here is some other pics a drug up from other sites. In the fist pic it looks like soome one welded it down.
Apparently one person pried the Pedal off of the tab and created a new tab which was sealed and bolted down. Looks like there is also poprivets in each corner.
