Hi All, I got the ignition parts yesterday, a little more than 24 hours after I clicked 'order' (thanks Pelican Parts for the great service).

I have seen various videos about the importance of lubricating everything before I install it, so I used a good about of PTFE dry lube in and around all the parts that looked liked they moved. Is that good enough, or should I use more?

Thanks!

Hi all, did this job this morning and it went well. Now that I see how this system works, I understand why you were so insistent on doing the job ASAP. Anyway, everything works normal and the steering wheel unlocks no problem.

A few follow up questions:

-There is a small electrical plug on the ignition lockout piece, aside from the main harness, what does it do? It was unplugged when I got in there, and I'll need to order a new wire if I want to plug it back in. I read on another forum that it's the buzzer, but my buzzer works fine.

-Unrelated, I found some unplugged (yellow) vacuum lines under the hood , can you tell me which system they are for?:

IIRC the yellow lines are for your vacuum locks and the vacuum tank in the back.

That makes sense, because my door locks don’t work. Until I can get parts, should I plug these up?

Don't know if you will need any parts. The lines are not hard to knock loose. Take a look at this diagram

Thanks that diagram is great. I am missing the yellow check valve, other than that I can reconnect and see what happens.
I do have a delay at shut-off, and not working door locks. I’m hoping this is the problem.

You are also fortunate. Living in a state where salvage cars for some parts are still not really that hard to locate.
