Amazing old diesel

Back in canada and in self isolation. 85 300D has been stored for 3 months. Connected battery, glowplugged once, turned key and started immediately!. Took her for a spin and the old girl still runs just great. 🥰

Such great cars. In this time of things getting all sideways I feel secure getting into my 85 and driving into town on a grocery run. I know I can count on the old girl to get me in and out of the pandemic zone.

Recently, Maximan1 started my 83 300D for the first time in almost 2 years, and it fired up like it was parked yesterday. Bad diesel and all...

I have had diesels that have been sitting for 10 or more years fire right up. I have had other ones that have sat less time take a while to get going.

This is why I love having a diesel for my classic car. It can be tucked away in the garage all winter then start right up whenever I'm ready to bring it out.

Give two shots at the pre-glow cycle to improve your chances at a first crank start after a long having sat.
