Expansion tank hose
Hi everyone,
I have a 1985 Mercedes 300d, its the "California" version. Looking to replace the expansion tank hose. Its the hose that goes from the bottom of the expansion tank to the bottom of the radiator. When it comes out of the radiator it has a 90 degree turn. There are other hoses but they are for the 300td. |

If it is OE there should be a part number molded in it, that will help with the search.
Good luck!!!

There is one on eBay now, search by part number. Please try our sponsor first though.
Good luck!!!

I don't think you will be able to find it. When I looked for my 300CD California car I could not find one. You can make up your own hose from silicone heater hoses and fittings from Pegasus Auto Racing. They won't cost more than the OEM hose and they will last longer than you will. I replaced two of my curvy heater hoses with them, and will get around to replacing the same expansion tank hose in another year or so.
A worthwhile trick you can do to extend the life of your current hose a few years is to soak it in 303 Aero Protectant for at least 24 hours, then rinse it out with water. |
