So we should listen to you, a conspiracy theorist on a web forum that claims that this brand is the best for some reason?

Here's another for Valvoline Dex/Merc. I've used it in numerous models of transmissions from the W123 era and newer.

You sir, obviously understand very very little about the lubrication business, otherwise you would recognize the lead role Lubrizol plays in ALL OF IT.

Over the years, I've really enjoyed my contacts within the lubrication industry. It has helped me more than once stay clear of 'problematic' motor oils, some of which are sold by the nation's leading retailers.

I'm sure you have PLENTY of "contacts" with lubrication industry experts. In your dreams. Maybe you'd like to have some of them chime in with their reputed knowledge? Grandiose claims require more concrete proof than passing comments.

Lubrizol is an additive manufacturer, selling general and custom blended ATF add packs, including variants tuned for PAO and lower group base fluids, and various manufacturers’ requirements for friction behavior and other key parameters. They certainly are a major player, have a great website, and offer a lot of good stuff.

I’m sure taking them to lunch would result in them recommending their customers’ fluids. And?

If Afton, Oronite or whomever else offers additives, are they inferior? Especially if adhering to obsolete, unlicensed Dexron specs?

Shouldn't be too hard for you to provide some proof then.

I dont know about Lubrizol being GOD of the industry, but I do like their lube standards comparison tool. Nice visualization of the various car manufacturers and sanctioning bodies' standards and a nice way to see how they stack up to each other.

"merc lover" formerly known as "HuskyMan" has a bad habit of making grandiose claims with zero facts or documentation to back him up. The claims he "knows" people in high places, and the simply unbelievable (and often well-disproven) conspiracy-grade nonsense that gets posted in the off-topic section by him has multiple people on this forum calling him out for his BS. He got banned under his previous username for that kind of crap, not sure how he's managed to fly under the radar this long with his current one.

If he makes claims about something, ask to see some evidence. Usually a trivial request, he'll go off the deep end and spin things back around as him being attacked.

Guys,

Don’t spend a lot of time and money on wonderfluids. Use fluids which are backwards compatible with your specifications. If it’s not shifting right it’s not the fluid. You can’t cure a broken leg with Açaí juice either if you were wondering. Trust me! I’m a limo driver!
