There are some on fleabay for ~$60. Be sure to apply grease to the threads. It makes a difference in ease of use and not destroying the threads. I've only used mine on 2 front ends but the tool is still in good shape.

Spring compressed is scary. The 1st spring I unloaded the tension. It's a hassle to get the spring back to the correct compression to reinstall. I left the 2nd and later spring compressed which worked batter - but was scary.

I asked them this when I ordered it and they said it came from Europe not China.

I can tell it is high quality and I had no fear something was going to blow. Of course I treated it with healthy respect. Always make sure the axis of the spring is pointed away from you whenever you have it charged up.

How long ago was it you bought it and is it marked on the tool, instructions or box where it was made? If it was actually made I Europe why wouldn't they know what County?

Throwing out some random info:
I bought stuff from Laser tools and that is in the UK I could say they came from Europe but they are in fact made in China.

I had a problem with some of the inside dimensions of their splined fuel injection delivery valve socket and I sent pics of theirs with dimensions and the same with a Hazet delivery valve socket.
I ask them why they had not simply copied the Hazet Socket.

We emailed back and forth 3 times and he told me the Factory was in China and they were going to fix the issue and send me 5 new sockets. In about a month and 1-1/2 Months I got the redesigned sockets for free.

My point is the Sockets were not marked where they were made and if they guy had not told me the factory is in China I would have thought they were made in the UK.

The Laser Tools version of the 4870 Mercedes Coil Spring Compressor is around $350 each

Next in the line of logic is if you have a tool made in Europe why wouldn't you say that to begin with?

When I was looking into this sort of thing I found that there is another besides Klann another maker but the site I looked at felt the other spring compressor was made by Klann or some affiliate and it was also similarly expensive. SPX02.
