Indeed. But if you study the pic you'll see the passenger compartment is still essentially unmolested. Not just down it's length but across it's width as well.

Would also like to know if a seatbelt was used.

My thought was the impact which could tear off the front and crush the back like a beer can might have enough g forces to nearly cut him in half.

I'm beginning to think perhaps a racing harness similar to what NASCAR drivers wear might be the way to prevent ejection.

they're better than three points but its all tied together and a system. One element fails and there is significantly reduced safety.

I don't know enough about NASCAR racing harnesses to speak knowledgeably. That said, NASCAR cars travel at high rates of speed so there must be a reason they choose the type of restrainment systems they do.


I've also wondered about installation of a roll cage similar to the ones NASCAR cars have.
