There's also spotify, apple music, tidal (pray tell), between which you've access to most music in creation.

I'm not in an area with cell phone towers, so streaming services are not an option. My solution works as well or better than any of those proprietary systems. What you're missing is: different strokes for different folks.

There's also ample space where the radio used to be, but thanks.

That's valid. I have no opinions on what people do with their cars.

Excellent idea!

please note, with the fader connected, the car only present wires for 2 channels at 2 ohms.

Interesting, the stock speakers are 4 ohm each then? Small class-d amps are easy to find, and many go down to 2 ohms, but I haven't yet looked much into what amp or speakers I'm going to use to replace the stock stuff.

This is a really cool solution. I admire your tech skills.

I ended up installing two cheap ($12) Bluetooth headunits in my diesels. I used to run an Alpine ida-001 iPod controller but that just got antiquated and seemed static with all my old content. The Bluetooth allows me to play amazon streaming music (comes with prime) and NPR communist radio using iPhone apps.

Thanks! There's really not much to it though. Children literally build stuff like this on rainy weekends. (I'm not even talking about *smart* children). The single board computers with GPIO pins make it incredibly simple to do stuff like this.

Post DIN - 1 Dash Storage Drawer

I think this is pretty neat .

I'm always looking for places to stash more things .

I'll keep my good working great sounding original Becker radios though .
