Thank you for all the replies!

No, I don't have a spare...which is why I bought the tire...to use as a spare.
I'll have to do the math and figure out what to do. I'll call my mechanic, etc.
He seems to have gotten pricier...I'll contact guy in the thread.
Maybe return this tire and get one already mounted. Except that Walmart
did Not put it in a box which they said they would...if I wanted to return. So have to give them a call...thanks

I have spare 14 inch bundt wheels...available at low,low cost.
Some have good tires and can be used as a spare.

Send me a PM.

Thanks Alec!

I want to see what Walmart says about possibly returning this tire...
the tire size is 195/70/14. You're in Oakland?...my mechanic is David Pham
on Bancroft near 55th. His shop has no name on it and it's all word of mouth.
He really knows his stuff. I think long ago he worked for Mercedes then opened his own shop. I'll give you his number if you're interested.
Thanks again, and I may pm you - Linda

Tail light

Different question, but if anyone is still looking at this thread...maybe give me
your thoughts...A guy hit my tail light and broke it. I ordered a new one, with
the bulb. Is this something that is easy to replace. There are many instructions online. The problem I've had trying to work with this car is it is a 1983, so I'm not sure if the tail light is going to be tough to get off, etc, because of rust,
or age. I'd just take it to my mechanic. the driver also knocked off a portion of the silver trim, but I managed to replace that...************** videos are pretty great...thanks

Swapping out a cracked tail light lens is an easy 10 minute DIY job.
IIRC, the only hand tool required is an 8 mm deep socket on a ratchet wrench.

Thanks

I just open the hood, and twist the attacked knob and pull out and
insert new, correct? It's actually the front yellow piece that is broken...the turn signal.

Yes, you described the correct procedure for replacing a damaged front turn signal lamp housing.
No hand tools needed.

Spin off the circular white knurled nut, remove the bulb holder from the lamp housing,
and push the lamp housing out of the car chassis.
"Installation is the reverse of removal".

Thanks Yes

Yes....I believe so...I've got the tire I bought from walmart.
A gentleman on this forum will sell me the bundt? rim...(but it has a 15" tire attached). So I will go to a tire place and have them take the old tire off,
and put the new 14" tire on. My other tires are 14".
Now I'm putting new molding on the side, and in the Mercedesshop video, he
just pushed the red clips into the car first until you heard them click. Well, I cannot push hard enough, so I've found a rubber hammer to hopefully give them
a good tap. Then I will replace the turn signal...and then I'll open my own
repair shop...kidding, Besides changing fuel filters that is the extent of my
Mercedes knowledge..Tried to fix power windows, that turned into a disaster.

You can't mount a 14" tire on a 15" rim. A 14" tire requires a 14" rim.

Exclamation !! HALT !!

You cannot put a 14" on a 15" rim so don't buy anything other than a 14" alloy "Bundt" style rims that looks just like what's on your car now .

Should be easily found in any junkyard or on craigs list for $25 tops .

Buy a 14" rim and have your new tire mounted onto it, have them replace the valve stem at the same time, air it up to 35 PSI, drop it in the trunk and forget about it until that day you need it .

Post Reality Check

? This begins to sound like you're pulling our collective leg .

The simple and cheap answer has been offered several times over yet you're still fooling around with your apparently worthless shop....

If your Mechanic is any good or more importantly , honest, by now he should have been able to sell you the correct rim with a junk tire on it for $50 out the door shop price including taxes etc. .

Take that to any tire shop and have them put your new 14" tire on it....

This isn't rocket science .

Clarification to all readers:

The low, (way less than $25) low cost wheel I have offered has a 14 inch bundt rim on it...but the 2013 date coded 215/70R 14 Hankook Optimo tire on it is junk.
The inner side is worn down to the steel belts due to a bent tie rod issue...and yet it still holds air, even though the tire must be dismounted and discarded.

Well Yes Natal...
I'm not pulling anyone's leg, why should I pay more through my mechanic when I
could pay less. I'm not asking you for advice. I know it's not rocket science, and
you are a real rude jerk. Someone asked if I got the tire straightened out, so I
answered.
