How do you tell the difference between MB tex and leather?

I don't know which my car has... all I know is it's blue and I swear it's leather. But you never know! Any help?

Hard to Tell, isn't it?

Greetings,

In most cases leather applied to seats are flatter in shape than the mb-tex vinyl. Your car being an '84 I'd imagine there should be some slight wear to either type of covering, and if it looks slightly faded or white, then it's most likely leather as the dye has worn off those places. Running your finger nail over the seat surface is also a give away as leather will glide and not allow your nail to penetrate the surface as vinyl will. If all else fails apply pressure to the front of the seat and remove the lower plastic upolstry clip and feel the underneath material to determine what it is.

Well that first thread you listed gave me a way to see. Try to burn it and if it melts it is tex My rear seat has a melted spot that looks like someone dropped a cigarette, not an obvious spot but it is melted. So I must have tex. But for my purposes of telling people it's leather. :)
