Place for a PPI near Wilmington NC?

Found a 2.5TD Benz but its on the other coast. Hoping to get a PPI done so there wouldnt be any surprises.

Any suggestions?

You may have to get the car to a major city to find a qualified shop to perform a pre-purchase inspection. Wilmington looks like a one horse town; not many options.

Raleigh, Charlotte and Colombia might work... anything in that area could work

Raleigh is probably 2hrs from Wilmington, Charlotte is 3 or more and Columbia is in South Carolina and maybe close to 5 hrs away, just FYI.

Wilmington is a bigger town than you might think, probably something there that would work, but I don’t know of one myself.

Um, no..... I live in Wilmington. NOT a one-horse town. We're about 140,000 and have some great shops. Send me a PM with details and I'll track something down for you. Among other shops we have a Bosch Authorized Service Center (not an easy certification to get) and I'm sure I can find you a good place to get it checked out.

In my humble opinion, the only people qualified to perform a thorough PPI are MB factory TRAINED mechanics who also have a history of dealership on the job experience. Anyone else is a wannabee who knows enough to be dangerous.

In my years of dealing with mercedes benz products, I've only known TWO who were working in indy repair shops who fit the description above. Both of them went to Stuttgart for training then worked in their local MB dealership repair department for a number of years. The new crew at the dealership has pretty much little to no experience working on older mercedes leaving you having to go to indy repair shops for a PPI.

Good luck.

I'm in Wilmington also. We're not a one horse town, but a lot of dealerships and specialty shops know it's a 2 hour drive to their nearest competitor and price accordingly.
