Leaking oil cooler om603

1987 300D w124 us spec
Does anyone know if the lower 3 or 4 rows of fins in my oil cooler are wet soaking and dripping with oil of that is only from the cooler or could that be caused by hose leak?
Need another “dry” oil cooler asap
Thanks

If no one else answers degrease the area an monitor it until you can see where the leak is coming from.

There are quite a few OM603 powered cars in Pick-n-pull within driving distance of Oakland right now that probably all have oil coolers in them if you need a replacement.

You could also fairly easily/possibly more cheaply install an10 lines and an aftermarket cooler in its place, if you have trouble sourcing a factory unit.

I went the an10 route, probably cost me $150 vs the 250+ just for a used stock oil cooler on ebay. The hardest part was figuring out how to mount the new one as it was slightly larger. Junkyard would be cheaper of course but those fittings might be a bear to remove.
