1981 240d parts car gutting

Hey everyone me and my buddies are getting together and have a parts car we are going to gut and I wanted some advice on the removal of the engine. I plan to print out the checklist ************** has created for removing the engine and transmission together, however, I was wondering since I manual swapped my other 240d should I just pull the transmission first and then the engine because we do not have a load leveler for our engine stand to pull both the engine and transmission as one. Thoughts appreciated!

Well you can rent, borrow, or buy a load leveler. Or by cutting the rad support top out. Would possibly not require one.

Yeah, we just cut the rad support with a sawzaw and pulled the whole engine and transmission out in 5 hours. Me and my two buddies helped (3 17-year-olds) Cannot believe how high the front of the car sits now compared to the back, its got that south Carolina squat lol
