I had time to scrub my engine for a while.

did some more cleaning.

also painted the windshield fluid reservoir. It was a huge eye sore.

engine compartment looks way better.

Very nice! Just wondering why those red wires aren't encased in a wire sheathing of some sort?

yup, next is to put those in split loom.

I looked at the box, they are actually brillo pads. don't use lemon scented, makes your hands stink.

I'm trying to decide what to do with the valve cover next time I have it off.

either black it out, or put a fresh polish on it and use clear coat to preserve it.

I vote the second option, but that's personal preference.
Some elbow grease and some metal cleaner gave my valve cover a great natural shiny look.
