300d manual shifter linkage bushings

Hi everyone
Member from England here, apologies in advance for anything that gets lost in translation

So I have a 1983 w123 300d 5 speed manual. I need to replace the linkage bushings and clips.
Think I need three new bushings and 6 retaining clips.
Can anyone shed any light on the actual part numbers , or a complete available kit please?

Cheers

Dan

Dan,
I don't know the part #'s; however, I'm recalling members using ones made of Delrin so?. Searching on Delrin may help gather information.

Good luck!!!

Damn. You have one of the holy grails of 123 motoring. A 5 speed manual, non turbo 300D. I would expect that this is almost the perfect car with the possible exception of the harmonic balancer. Can you post any pic's of it? And do you know the rear diff ratio?

It’s certainly a good car. Only done 154000 miles. It’s not the best looking thing but mechanically it’s spot on. In the covid lock down it benefited from good old going over and tune up, used some of that diesel purge stuff to. I haven’t got any photos of it, I’m desperate to get these bushes done.

I would imagine with the 3 liter and a 5 speed manual you have the best combination of performance vs fuel economy you could get in the 123. Only possible better one would be a 5 speed 240D but you'd lose some of the long legs on the highway with the smaller motor, even with the 5 speed.

Good luck with the bushings. Where are you in England? I hope the rust worm hasn't had too good of a feed on the car.

I'm also an English member
My 200T has a 5 speed manual too.
What symptoms are you getting that tell you those bushes need replacing?
The lock down car maintenance I've done on this thing is crazy, so might as well look at those whilst I'm under the car.

Parts list here...

I must ask. Can you post some pic's of you car? I've seen a few stunning examples of 200T's for sale in classic car trader in the UK over the last couple of years. Your's isn't one of them by any chance is it?

I think the obvious sign is a slight feeling of looseness when shifting and moving the shifter. Also in my experience, I've heard slight metal on metal clinking from where the shift rods connect when the car is shut off and parked in the garage. You can hear it under the car.

But anyway your 200t is just beautiful. What a nice looking wagon. I've got the same interior on my '84 but its cream cloth instead of palamino cloth. Definitely one of my favorite interior styles but it is an unforgiving material in terms of staining.

Cheers

I bought some recently, they were based in the UK as well.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mercedes-MB-W115-W123-W126-220D-300D-Four-Five-Speed-Gear-Lever-Linkage-Bush-Kit/223973339866?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I just put them in my car, yet to take it for a drive yet as i'm doing an engine swap, but they look good so far

Cheers for the link.
I did actually see that item yesterday, that item doesn’t come with the retaining clips though does it?
I actually contacted my local MB dealership and sliced the parts from the parts department. Thanks though I will have this Ebay item as back up

Math

How were they to fit? Did you buy a tool or make up a press?
