Ed,

Just the basic stuff, oil changes every 3000mi, give the oil a chance to warm up and circulate before driving etc.

I think the engine would go to 400-500k, but the rest of the car will not, thats the difference between Mercedes and GM, consistency in their quality. GM will once in a while make a nice product (3800 series 1 and a few others), Mercedes make a good engine, and then match it with a good body, tranny, interior etc.

Trelinski

It's too bad GM can't figure out how to combine their strengths into one package.
The reason I say that is that there are some cars they make which are brilliant-Cadillacs which are bred to go coast to coast on Americas interstates. My Eldo is wonderfully comfortable to be in for a long time, but it can't begin to offer the level of refinement of any cheap Mercedes in the suspension dept. But not all Cadillacs are that way. The earlier ones were better at it than the current ones. The Fiero was super comfy and had the best exhaust sound of any domestic car. Engine was smooth but breathless over 2500rpm. Etc, etc, etc.

My 300CD is let down by the engine, but the chassis is brilliant.
The seats are junk, aint no doubt!
Needs a Nissan V6! Ooooo....
