w124 and w123 Injectors

I still have my injectors from my w123 that were to be used as cores for Tango Fox to rebuild. They have about 250k miles on them.

My question is, can they be used in an OM602?

I have an injector nailing on my w124.

No. Completely diffent

All I can say is that the car will run. How good, I don't know. My friend accidentally put 1 or more w123 injectors into W124 with an OM603. It ran OK. You can always try. It won't kill the engine.

I wonder if w124 nozzles would fit the bodies. Monarch or Bosio nozzles!

The interchangeability depends on which prechambers are in your head. If you have the earlier "Vertical" injection, then yes, you can use a 617 injector because they're the same thing. If it's a later "Inclined/Oblique" injection, then no you can't because the injector holder is a different/incompatible design. The nozzles and pop pressures are the same, it's the holder that differs depending on the prechamber design.

265 or 312 if I recall correctly are the nozzle sizes for the w124 I can't recall what size is used in the w123. Yes the nozzles from a w123 will fit either of the injector bodies for a w124. The nozzle size should be visible to read maybe.

My car is a 91. How can I tell which prechamber I have?

nastala 12-24-2020 01:03 AM

OM617.952 - 240
OM602.962 - 265

OM603.961 - 265
OM603.971 - 314

OM606.962 - 310

I can look up whatever else wants. Engine -> injector or injector -> engine. And cross-reference PNs. I remember hearing somewhere that Mercedes recommends replacing the 240s in a OM617 with 265s, something about the side passage (for noise reduction) clogging. I may be misremembering though. The nozzle holder (injector) is the KC type in the OM617, and I *think* it would be compatible with the OM602, but the PNs are different for both Bosch and Mercedes. So I highly suspect the injectors will work in the OM602.

It is the om602.962. My w123 did not have a nailing injector, just wanted them rebuilt after 200k miles.
