95 e300d Instrument Cluster Lights - wire colors?

I had to remove my instrument cluster and the lights on the right side in the numbered holes 1 through 6 were came out. Each of these wires is usually numbered. Someone in the past removed some of the numbers. So now I need to know where they go based on wire colors.

Does anyone know the correct wire colors for each light wire pair and which hole they go into?

I found this and have followed it. But in this diagram, I think the SRS and ABS light pairs wires are reversed.

http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Mercedes-Benz/1995/E300/SYSTEM%20WIRING%20DIAGRAMS/5385.pdf

Can someone confirm the wire colors corresponding to the numbers on the wires for a w124 diesel? Or at least wire number 1, which is on the left side of the cluster. Digram above states it should be black/brown, but I believe its the SRS light.

Thanks!

The lights shown in the diagram are to give you the wire colors, not the position in the cluster. Match the colors given with the correct location in your cluster binnacle.

look at your cluster, decided which symbol you are gonna track down, then find it.

Example: put your ebrake on, whichever light turns on, mark it off.

And repeat this process...

isn't there only like 3-4 light bulbs that had to come out?

All great ideas.

I did follow the wiring diagram colors and then located the bulb into the corresponding slot.

For example, the diagram states that the preglow indicator has a black and brown wire. Accordingly I placed that bulb into the far right location, looking at the cluster from the front.

I followed the other colors and locations in the same way.

However, now the SRS light acts like the preglow. Meaning, the preglow indicator, following the diagram, does not act like its actually the preglow.

This is what led me to post the question.

It would be greatly helpful to have someone verify their bulb numbers againts the diagram I posted above the next time someone has their cluster pod out.

Let me know if that better describes the problem.

ok so just switch the srs bulb and the pre glow right?

maybe someone re wired these wires when then swapped out the the disengrating wiring harness and didn't put them back the same color or with the number tags.
