Question Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor.

For a while my 2008 E320 Bluetec is having a issue with DPF. I had the DPF removed and cleaned by a company in Texas who only do this kind of service but my engine light still ON. I ha also my NOx replaced. Someone said that the computer must to have the code cleared after these services are performed. I brought the car to a shop to have the code cleared and it came back again. Today I brought my car to a shop who works with MB and after diagnosing the car they found a " Faulty Back Pressure Sensor" and had it replaced but they did not run the car in highways after the job done. At the time to pick up my car they told me to drive the car in highways for few days in order to run the regeneration process. I still have the car with engine light on but asking myself: will the engine light goes off after running this car several days?
I drive this car to work daily and my one way trip is a 27 miles highway from end to end. This give me a round trip of 54 miles daily at an average of 60 - 70 MPH
What you think that will happen after following this instruction?
Thanks

It is likely that the ECU will clear the code after so many miles or successful trips without issue. You should have 2 DPF pressure sensors, one before the filter and one after, the codes are thrown when there is a flow differential outside of boundaries or when the system has an error. If for some reason you still have the pressure sensor error code, it could be possible that the other pressure sensor is bad, although the ECU code should be more specific as to which one it is. You could also have the shop do a forced regen with their scan tool, although if you just got the DPF cleaned, it shouldnt require a regen this soon, presumably the flow through should be good with a clean DPF.

Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply. It was very useful.
Mechanic said that this sensor goes threaded to the exhaust system before the DPF.
I will keep an eye to see when the engine light goes away.
