Crankcase cooling system bleeder valve replacement needed
Hello friends,
I have a 1999 e320 turbodiesel wagon that has been consuming water. Finally I found where the water was leaking from. I found it to be coming from a cooling system bleeder valve that is located on the passenger side of the crankcase just behind the exhaust manifold. Unfortunately, when I pulled it out it left the aluminum threads behind. Now I must find a tap to clean the threads (apparently it is 18 x 1.5) and also locate a replacement bleeder valve. I suppose I don't have the correct name of this part as nothing appears when I do a search for it on various sites. Does anyone know what the proper name of this part and/or where I might aquire one. Thanks for looking at my post Last edited by Surfalia; 06-26-2021 at 09:30 PM. |

Sounds more like a coolant drain valve or hollow screw than a bleeder valve. A bleeder let's air escape and is located as high as possible in the system.
Good luck!!!

I believe this is the part you need, A6019970430, I don't know the thread size.
