190D Serpentine Belt replacement
Hi, I tried posting this earlier but it never posted.
I am trying to replace the Serpentine belt in my 1986 automatic 190D. I can't find anything online on this for diesels. Can I just loosen the alternator, route the belt around the pulleys and re-tighten the alternator or do I have to take out the radiator, fan shroud and go in through the front. It doesn't look like there is too much room to work on this from the front and I don't even see a fitting on the tensioner pulley to relieve the tension or remove it. Thanks for any help, |

Your car has a belt tensioner with a spring that attaches to the cylinder head.

I saw that. I couldn't find out how to relieve the tension on the tensioner to get the belt off, but will continue to dig.
Thanks. |
