91 300D timing

We’re swapping fuel pumps in 91 300D the 602 turbo engine and I been searching for the correct answer and I found two answers one is 15 ATC and the other one is 14 ATC I know a lot of people here know the answer

There may be an emission sticker with that info.

That timing is done with an A&B Light or if you use a Timing Locking Pin when you insert the Fuel Injection Pump back into the Engine that takes care of it.

Post #37 has a pic of the A&B Light. The next post has a pic of the timing locking pin.

I don’t have the A&B light or the sticker I do have the timing locking pin that’s why I need to know how many degrees ATC

It's not letting me past the link to the service manual but 14 plus.5 is correct

I mentioned the emission stickler because if it was there it would tell you exactly the timing for your particular vehicle. I don't know if there is a difference between US or Euro models (turbo verses non-turbo) or manual transmission models.

Also these threads are read by others and the info might help someone else.

On my different year and model the spec on the sticker is 15 degrees plus or minus one degree ATDC. That gives me a range of 14-16 degrees ATDC that is considered OK.
