Om 606 thermastat question

Hello folks. About to do a coolant change and t stat change. I'm pretty sure I have this down as far as following the replacement cover/holder. I don't know enough of the history of the car to guess if I have the new holder for the thermastat. The radiator was replaced at one point but I don't know if they updated the thermastat. The fitting on the car now has part number a 606 203. It does not have the next four numbers usually on mb parts. Think this is the original holder/t stat combo? If I have to order the cover #603 203 0474 and a thermastat with gasket will I need a gasket for the holder/housing itself. Thanks in advance. Car is a 99 e300 turbo.
