1960s Mercedes 190d

So, I have a friend who is a real estate agent and he is selling a property for a guy who has a bunch of junk antique cars parked on it and they all need to go. He apparently has a 1960s 190d that is complete with title but has been sitting for about 20 years. I have had several W123 diesels for the last 10 years so I pretty much know what I am getting into. I have no idea why it was parked whether it had a problem or not. I can get the car for about $150-200. I don't have the time or money to do a restoration on it, but it's possible I could get it into some semi-running state and pass it on to someone else who would want to make it nicer. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Is there value in the parts or is it just a potential money trap.

If you can get the title in your name, it isn't a rust bucket and you would enjoy it, go for it. Don't plan on making any profit which it sounds like you do not anyway. The price is probably less than scrap value, that's in your favor.

Good luck!!!

If it's not a total rust bucket, pass it on to me! I need a good base to put this universal body onto.

Get it.
Why:
1. If it's not rusted, you can get a clean title for it for about $800. You can sell the car.
2. If it's in very bad condition, parts are valuable and you can sell them, then sell the body. This way you can keep other 190d on the roads.

Depending upon the specific year and condition, it might be of interest to me as a parts car for my W110 vintage racer build. Let me know your location and whether you're interested in letting it go as-is.

Best Regards,
Rob

Thumbs up Subscribed !

The flat bed image makes it looks decent, for under $200 unless it's in pieces I can't see why not buy it .
